You Know You've Made It When...

A fun perk of the side of my career that involves teaching in Belmont University’s Songwriting Department is the amazing roster of guests that stop by and share their talent with the students.

This week, my fellow instructor (and an amazing songwriter/producer in her own right) Jodi Marr hosted a guest interview seminar with the legendary Songwriting Hall of Famer Desmond Child.

Child is the writer behind a TON of the hits I grew up with…basically ANYTHING by Bon Jovi, Ricky Martin’s Livin’ La Vida Loca, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts’ “I Hate Myself For Loving You”, Aerosmith’s “Angel” & “Dude Looks Like a Lady”, Michael Bolton’s “How Can We Be Lovers”, and many more. (Read about his list of hits here.)

I captured a really fun moment on video at the end of his talk, when he shared one of his best known hits on piano. Check out the video below…you know you’ve made it as a songwriter when you can do THIS.
